The Fasting Roast: Healing, One Sip at a Time

Coffee, fasting, and spirituality

"The Fasting Roast: Healing, One Sip at a Time" is my second book—a unique blend of science and spirituality. Following the release of my debut title, The Invisible Hand: Exploring the Visible and Invisible Design in Nature, this new work continues my mission to bridge the gap between scientific insight and spiritual understanding.

This beautifully crafted coffee table book explores the healing properties of fasting and caffeine, while sharing my personal journey of transformation through intentional coffee consumption and intermittent fasting. After launching my coffee brand, Bold by Rai, I realized that my path into the world of coffee wasn’t a coincidence—it was part of a deeper calling.

The Fasting Roast also highlights some of the incredible Black-owned coffee shops I had the honor of visiting during my 2025 Summer Coffee Tour. More than just a book, it’s a reflection of my hope: that these pages inspire healing, spark curiosity, and deepen your relationship with both your body and your brew.

It was a pleasure having Asha as a co-host for both our 2023 and 2024 Nü You Conferences—a day for moms to feel seen, heard, and supported.

As a hostess, Asha always brings incredible energy and leaves a lasting impact. She kept the crowd engaged with dance breaks, insightful storytelling, and we can’t forget the LOOKS ( the outfit swaps mid event ) that keep the guests engaged .

Wearing many hats, Asha is always dedicated to every project she takes on. She is professional, poised, and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her as a hostess or speaker for any event where you want your guests to feel inspired and energized!

Asha Kabirou did an outstanding job officiating the Sierra Leone Muslim Jamaat program, leading the ‘Women’s Health & Fasting’ discussion with depth and clarity. She seamlessly bridges science and Islam, showing how Islam carried wisdom for 1400+ years - long before modern discoveries. Her insights bring hope, clarity, and a renewed appreciation for our faith. She handled this program with excellence, and I look forward to hearing her speak again.
